A note

[edit]

The serious problem I am having with this page is which family to put Doto into. According to all the old-school systems, Dotoidae is one of the Dendronotid families. But it's not appearing in the Tritonioidea anywhere. Does anyone have the actual article and does it have anything to say on this front? Seascapeza (talk) 13:22, 16 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Already solved: Dotidae according to the Bouchet & Rocroi 2005. --Snek01 (talk) 12:39, 7 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Doto torrelavega

[edit]

Hi, I am new here and have never created or edited a page, and I really don't understand how to do that. The two photos of Doto varaderoensis with the orange rings around the tubercules are actually of Doto torrelavega. There is not a page for Doto torrelavega in Wikipedia, it was apparently created then deleted. The species was described in the paper "New species of the genus Doto Oken, 1815 (Mollusca: Cladobranchia), named in honor of Torrelavega, city sistered with Havana, Jesus Ortea1, Manuel Caballer (Ortea J. & Caballer M. (2007) Nueva especie de Doto Oken, 1815 (Mollusca: Cladobranchia), nombrada en honor de Torrelavega, ciudad hermanada con La Habana. Avicennia 19: 121-126.)". The species is recognized as valid in the World Register of Marine Species (WoRMS). Can someone please reinstate or create the page, remove the photos from D. varaderoensis and add them to D. torrelavega?
