The lead does not completely summarize the article below. Using conversion templates to convert for C to F and mm to in would help out as well, since many English-speaking users still use imperial units. Hydrological drought

"...the rate of evapotranspiration exceeds the rate of uptake of water from the plant (which can be seen in the United Kingdom, on hot days, when plants wilt as their stores of water are depleted)."
