Maybe being pedantic, but I changed "Monklands council, part of Strathclyde Regional Council" to "Monklands council, part of Strathclyde". As I understand it, the district councils worked independently to the regional councils. Monklands may have been in the Strathclyde area, but did not answer to Strathclyde Regional Council as its superior. It was this 2-tier system, with 2 different councils working independently of each other taking on different tasks in an area (transport by the Region, Libraries by the District etc.), that was one of the arguments for re-organisation. 213.31.133.74 (talk) 10:29, 7 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

"The ridge where wheat is stored"?

Can anyone provide a source for this meaning? Everything I see on Google looks like it's just referencing wikipedia, rather than any independent sources. WistfulMoon (talk) 19:06, 19 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
