I disagree with the Duke's paedophilia being only in comparison to modern standards. He himself explicitly states "The younger the better to become my wife" in episode 19. Not to mention *everything* in his manner screams pedo. - DinkyB. 15:09, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

From what I've seen in History, the Duke's PoV doesn't necessarily relates to paedophilia. It was common, if not desirable, for noble girls to be married at VERY early age at that time, so they could bear their husbands healthy children soon (among other reasons, of course).
There are LOTS of examples through world history; the Queen of France Catherine of Medici, Mary Queen of Scots in her first marriage to Catherine's son Francis II), etc. There are also several examples in fiction; in Romeo and Juliet it's canon that Lady Capulet gave birth to Juliet when she was younger than Juliet, and Juliet herself was 13 years old during the play, in which her father was happily engaging her to Count Paris saying that the sooner Juliet was Paris' wife, the better.
So, Charlotte's early age doesn't *necessarily* mean that the Duke, for marrying her, *MUST* be a pedo. He could be, he could be not. Marie Antoinette herself was 13/14 when she married The Dauphin/the future Louis XVI in Rose of Versailles, and nobody accuses Louis of being a pedo. :o Lunamaria 23:16, 18 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Duke de guiche.jpg[edit]

Image:Duke de guiche.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
