[edit]

We have permission from the authors which have been referenced on the page to include those references in the Dynion Mwyn page.

Well, that's good to know indeed, but I don't see the point. If you are saying that the text given here, or a large part of it, is copied from that site then that's fine (providing you can prove that to others), but it still didn't need citing in every reference. If there is no verbatim copying but just a reference to a web page then we don't need any permission from them or anybody else. Enaidmawr (talk) 20:46, 1 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Do we need upper case letters?

[edit]

Do we need upper case letters? I can't see a reason for them. Llywelyn2000 (talk) 18:19, 31 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No. Not standard formatting, so I changed it. I also think there are far too many sections of just a few lines each but can't be bothered going through the text again (mae gen i waith i'w wneud ar cy: hefyd, Llywelyn!). Enaidmawr (talk) 20:46, 1 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Balance

[edit]

This article seriously needs other sources. I'm not doubting the validity of what is said about the DM's beliefs as such, but there are definitely things which need explaining or corroborating from other sources, otherwise it's like reading a history of the Church of England sourced from the C of E's own web site and nowhere else. Just how old is this tradition in effect, for instance? Enaidmawr (talk) 20:46, 1 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Controversy

[edit]

I am not in a position to judge the rights and wrongs of this, but there seems to be a great deal of controversy, including allegations of plagiarism and worse, about the founders of Dynion Mwyn (William Wheeler aka Rhuddlwm Gawr and Victoria Wheeler aka Cerridwen Gawr or the Lady Cerridwen). If anybody's interested they should take a look here. One more reason for having a balanced and neutral source added. (I'd like to make it clear that I personally have no axe to grind, merely concerned with encyclopedic verifiablilty and NPOV). Enaidmawr (talk) 21:17, 1 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

In regards to the above statement. It is in error. The founder of Dynion Mwyn is Taliesin einion Vawr (Taliesin Wynne)in approx 1947. Rhuddlwm Gawr brought the tradition back to the United States in 1965. In reply to the above please look at [1] In regard to the below statement, by MariAdkins, since Lady Cerridwen is very much alive, I don't see how anyone could claim that she was killed. As to the rest of the statement, I have no Idea what she is talking about. I have only been a web mistress since 2003. But in asking around we can't find a reference to any material which was removed. But it is a certainty that if there are any controversial material on our site that is plagiarized from other sources, I would like them identified so they can be either removed or cited. I take my job seriously. Lady Boudicca. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.145.252.53 (talk) 14:06, 26 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I want to note here that I had to threaten to sue them to take my trad's information off their main website over the course of late 1999 through early 2002. They had accused us (and others) of stealing their materials. I'd never heard of them until someone pointed me toward their website. They also accused one of my friends of killing Lady Cerridwen over the internet. These people have a long history, but it's not pretty history. I am not doubting your claims about this copying Wicca, but I find it humorous since Wicca itself is a cheap immitation of the older relidion of druidism. This article seams to be to copy way too much information from other pages without enough original material or enoough resource links. Does anyone know enough about this besides the author of the article to help fix it? Solon King (talk) 10:43, 2 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Bill Wheeler is a liar and a thief. There's plenty of evidence lying around all over the internet. I can't believe this article is even still here on Wikipedia! Mari Adkins 20:53, 4 May 2019 (UTC)

I find it humorous that someone who clearly does not speak enough Welsh to know that they are both mis-spelling 'Fawr' and calling themselves 'a large anvil' to be claiming descent from some sort of ancestral Welsh neopaganism that Just So Happens to be a plastering of sometimes badly-translated Welsh onto basically conventional 50s and 60s Wicca. Just another group trying to use false Celticisms for clout, I suppose, notwithstanding that Welsh (and Pictish) people were fully Christianised likely by the 4th or 5th century CE. I also find the contention that Wicca is some form of 'imitation' of ancient Celtic religion highly offensive - Wicca was completely made up whole-cloth by occultists in the 1940s to 60s based on what even at the time was pseudoscience. This entire page reads like a small religious group's manifesto and organisational history rather than an informational page and it should either be made more objective and observational if the group is significant within American neopagan groups or otherwise just deleted. Wicca?

[edit]

I remember reading in a Wicca book almost everything (Other than the deities) on this page, word for word. In fact, on Wikipedia's very own [American Council of Witches] page, some of these have been copied. The concept of Summerland is also a Wiccan belief. I think there needs to be more sources as to the original beliefs of Dynion Mwyn rather than neopaganism. 67.6.43.152 (talk) 01:19, 29 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Just went and looked at the American Council of Witches page as above cited. You say some of them have been copied. You are in error. There is no wording or similar that has been copied onto this page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by GwenBouddica (talkcontribs) 20:38, 26 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Recent misinformation concerning Dynion Mwyn

[edit]

This page was brought to my attention by our web master who originally authored the Wikipedia entry for Dynion Mwyn. In the matter of slander directed at us: go to http://www.dynionmwyn.net/plagerize.html

Slander and defamation was edited on to this entry at the beginning of the submission. Our webmaster Lady Gwen Boudicca has removed it and will continue to remove it and report it as a violation of the terms.

She is the representative for Dynion Mwyn in Europe including UK and Italy. She can defend her entries on the page although I have read them and can verify they are accurate. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.145.252.53 (talk) 13:23, 26 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Defunct

[edit]

This article lacks credible citations from third party sources (almost all of the listed citations go back to the Dynion Mwyn website, which is now n longer online.) It appears that since the death of William Wheeler, the organization has collapsed and is no longer in existence. 00:02, 7 June 2024 (UTC) Ashareem (talk) 00:02, 7 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
