The original article confused the parish name with the village name: two separate places Peter Shearan 09:38, 9 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Costumes

[edit]

Doesn't East Hoathly bonfire society generally only do the Cowboy's and Indians theme?

When I lived there in the 80s/90s each of the surrounding village’s societies had a different theme. I can't remember who the Vikings or Military themed societies were though.

Rewrite of article

[edit]

The article here sets out the Wikipedia notes on writing about settlements. It specifies headings (although, with smaller places like this, they can be adjusted), and makes it clear that all and any statements are backed by a reference. Hence the rewrite. The article now talks about the civil parish as a whole, specifying where possible which part of the parish. This too is specified in the notes: that a civil parish article should incorporate its component parts within it; this reduces the need for having separate article about the smallest of places - and with it, the number of stubs.

Incidentally, I note that the fireworks disaster actually occurred in the neighbouring parish of Ringmer, which is West Sussex (see reference 10)although the media called it Halland. Peter Shearan (talk) 09:45, 8 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
