Quote from an author
[edit]A quote needs sources. This quote is attributed to Rousseau, so the original quote has to been mentioned (I added it) and the date and the book where it has been found. It seems dubious he said that, because nobody is able to find where it has been found.
Although it's not a direct quote from Rousseau's own writings, but Adolphe Thiers attributes the phrase to him in his "The history of the French revolution," written in 1850. I haven't edited the main page with this because it's not a primary source, and therefore it doesn't conclusively prove the attribution is not apocryphal. But it does at least provide a basis for further research, and shows that if nothing else it is not a modern invention.
