"Patrick I, Earl of Dunbar who died on the last day of 1232"
[edit]I changed "the last day of 1232" to "December 31, 1232." The Oxford Dictionary of National Biography quotes the chronicle of Melrose to the effect that this was indeed Patrick's death date, but to the best of my knowledge, thirteenth-century Scotland, like England, considered the year to begin on March 25, not January 1. There are many exceptions to this throughout the Middle Ages, but few of them involve the year beginning on January 1. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Pnh (talk • contribs) 13:13, 31 October 2015 (UTC)
