There's a problem with the editing function on this article. When I click the edit tab, this is what I get. Aridd (talk) 19:14, 4 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, I've just noticed you have to edit the template within the article, not the article itself. It didn't use to be like that, as I recall. Never mind. Aridd (talk) 19:18, 4 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Chad 2009[edit]

hallo Chad 2009 parliamnetary election has been postponed again, will not be held this year due to long delays in census and registration. Also Angolan pres. Eduardo dos Santos stated "there is no hurry in holding a presidential election and people should express his opinion regarding constitutional changes before". Thank you for this information. Could you provide verifiable sources, please? We can't add it to the encyclopedia until it's sourced. Aridd (talk) 14:54, 14 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

yes, of course: http://www.toumai-tchad.com/article-28567772.html They didn't say elections have been officialy postponed (well, they have never been set either),but at this point of the year, it is very unlikely to complete all process by 2009. I have already moved the Chad parliamentary election to 2010 in my Electoral Calendar... http://www.mherrera.org/elections.htm If i have any comment in the future, I will use this discussion page, check it out....sorry for lack of time I cannot dedicate more time to edit Wiki pages. Niger Elections[edit]

Niger elections might be postponed. President has just dissolved the assembly and called for a referendum a a third term. That s an auto-coup d 'etate. Stay tune with possible news in Niger, a military coup is also possible. Maximiliano

New pages needed for subnational, autonomous, dependent and self-declared areas?[edit]

Has anyone noticed how the entry for Iraqi Kurdistan keep appearing and disappearing?

Rather than get into a childish game why don't we come up with a compromise?

It seems to me what is needed is a new page, linked to the main one which will list the elections for all: subnational federal entities (Canadian Provinces, Indian States, US states etc), autonomous regions (Hong Kong, Macau, Aland Island, Kurdistan etc), dependent self-governing territories (Bermuda, Cook Islands, Puerto Rico etc) or self-declared states (Northern Cyprus, Abkahzia, South Ossetia, Somaliland etc). We could even have a separate category for referendums.

This way we can avoid the disputes over the legal status of certain territories and still be able to read the details of the elections held.

Any thoughts?

Such a page could by definition never even try to be complete; this one can, that's why the criteria for inclusion are what they are. —Nightstallion 19:46, 7 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I don't say it could ever be last last word on this, but even to a casual observer the current set up of the page is inconsistent. Including self-declared states amongst recognised states, and even sub-national entities (autonomous or otherwise), is confusing. There is no particular reason for excluding Iraqi Kurdistan - unless you have hold a certain position. This why that particular entry has been deleted and restored several times. Time to revise the criteria or at least give my suggestion a chance. If it doesn't work happy to see things revert, but you will still have to have consistency.

Madagascar[edit]

There will be no referendum in Madagascar after the agreement of a transitional govt. Somaliland presidential election will be held at earliest in January according to latest news from electoral commission. St Kitts and Nevis general elections will be called soon and will probably be held in late November or in December. Delays was due to new boundaries settlements and its dragging case to the Courts: Denzil Douglas will run as MP for that constituency.

Moved to 2010[edit]

I moved the 2010 or later in the 2010 electoral calendar. Saint Kitts elections will not be held this year, but sometimes between January and March 2010, due to a long conflict of boundaries and dual citizenship. Cote Ivoire election postponed again. Rename Saint Kitts and Cote d Ivoire files from 2009 to 2010. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.9.194.36 (talk) 04:28, 23 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
