Overhead Transmission section, clarification required

In the 'Overhead Transmission' section of the article, there is a line that says "For normal AC lines thicker wires would lead to a relatively small increase in capacity due to the skin effect (which causes most of the current to flow close to the surface of the wire)." ----- The person that wrote this must explain what they mean by thicker wires would lead to a relatively small increase in capacity due to the skin effect. Why would skin effect increase the capacity? This needs to be properly explained, as it doesn't make sense at this moment. KorgBoy (talk) 23:22, 7 April 2020 (UTC)

From what I understand, it means that current would grow more linearly (proportional to cross sectional circumference) while weight and cost would grow quadratically (proportional to the cross sectional area). So at some point it's not worth it to increase the cross section of wires. --Ita140188 (talk) 04:35, 8 April 2020 (UTC)

Section merging

Would it be better if System and Bulk power transmission be merged? Overhead transmission and Underground transmission can also be part of this new section. For the control section, it misses the loadflow analysis and the busbar voltage control for the transmission network. Planning to do an overhaul base on the said changes, any comments?JC1 (talk) 11:38, 5 August 2020 (UTC)

Tesla Polyphase System

Per this edit: most of the changes are incorrect. The Westinghouse system was called the "Tesla Polyphase System" [1]. Also do not arbitrarily change file names, it breaks the link.
