Merge proposal

[edit]

I think this should be merged with the Fire balloon article. The woman herself isn't notable apart from the circumstances of her demise, which is already detailed in the fire balloon article as well as in Attacks on America during WWII. --BluePlatypus 08:50, 20 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I disagree, since these were the only people killed during a bombing attack on the continental US during that war: This makes her notable. Wyss 19:51, 23 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Seems sad to be notable just for the manner of your passing, doesn't it? Not sure what can be done to de-stubbify it further though I feel it should be kept. Wurzeller 22:26, 23 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not saying the attack isn't notable. What I'm saying is that there is no reason to have a seperate article for this making three articles giving nearly all the information contained here. That information should be merged and this page changed to a redirect. --BluePlatypus 16:08, 3 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Having just copyedited the Fire balloons section of the Attacks on United States territory in North America during World War II article and in the process referring to the Fire balloon, Bly, Oregon and Lakeview, Oregon articles, there does seem to be too much repetition of material, so I suggest this Elise Mitchell article is renamed as (moved to) "Deaths on mainland America during World War II due to enemy action" or the like and the relevant links in other articles pointed toward it.  David Kernow 10:41, 15 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
