I request that this page not be deleted. The stub I am developing for Ernest Shufflebottom results from a List of New Zealand designers and artisans created in February 2008. I am going through this list adding information on the individuals as I find them.

Ernest Shufflebottom was an artist and designer whose work and influence is recognised and researched by New Zealand design historians. Although only in New Zealand for a limited number of years his work (as well as his mentor's Keith Murray) has continued to influence other New Zealand potters and designers. His work is being actively collected by New Zealand public institutions including the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa, Hawkes Bay Cultural Trust, The Dowse Art Museum and Auckland Museum and Art Gallery and his reputation is growing in significance. You might be interested to learn that Ernest's surname is actually spelled "Shufflebotham" I have been in recent contact with his son in the UK. Yes most New Zealand books record this Master Potters surname as "Shufflebottom" but I'm told by his son that is incorrect. (Collectiques (talk) 09:59, 15 December 2008 (UTC))[reply]
