2007 venue

[edit]

In 2007, the GPE will be held in Varna[1]. I intended to write this, but I need to verify which is which, as another city provides different information. The Florilege (Tours) site says it's in Arezzo, but Varna lists it as Varna. Will be checking information from the other four competitions to confirm which is which. if you think you have beaten me into this, please let me know here. --- Tito Pao

Comment: It is more probable that it will be Arezzo because it was Varna two years ago, but there is no information on the website of Arezzo. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.136.106.106 (talkcontribs)
By the way, I moved Basque Country to the list of six cities so that it will only be mentioned once in the article. Just to be fair, I also added the provinces/counties where the other five cities belong; I realize that not many people might be familiar with the cities, so the links to their respective province/county may provide more information. --- Tito Pao 11:28, 17 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The 2007 results are in, but...

[edit]

I received news that the Philippine Madrigal Singers---actually, it's on the group's Friendster account (see the article for the link)---have won the 2007 contest. However, take note that the Arezzo website is NOT updated as of this writing (around 9am Manila time/2am Italian time). However, I was able to personally confirm that the Madz won through two independent sources (from their coutourier and from the brother of one of their altos). I got this information early this morning Manila time, which means that the announcement came in late at night in Italy, and it'll be understood that the Arezzo webmaster might still be asleep :P So until the Arezzo competition website becomes updated, please do NOT add this information on the article. Any additions while the Arezzo site is not yet updated will be removed immediately.

For your reference, the results should appear on this page. Once this page updates to reflect the 2007 results, please feel free to update this page. Thanks Done! Thanks to those who waited for the update from the Arezzo website. --- Tito Pao 01:30, 27 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
