I would suggest trying to expand the lead section maybe by explaining how the process is intra-molecular. Since the Sgs1 page does not exist, maybe give some background in order to keep readers up to speed. Perhaps you could also expand on the WRN gene. I would try to link to xenopus. The section on retrograde response could use more information. Maybe define what retrograde response is, then perhaps give an explanation to why this would be important. This is a good article, I cant wait to see what you do with it over the next few days. My biggest suggestion would be to add a 'so what' to some sections and maybe a little more background in to the this phenomenon. Great citations. Samuew (talk) 17:35, 22 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the feedback, I made updates accordingly. The Sgs1 does exist and I don't know why it didn't link though, as well as WRN. I defined retrograde response.

Suggestions for the article

Overall the article seems to be precise, needs some information and little editing. You can tag 'homologous recombination', as there is an article on wiki on this. Also regarding intra-molecular (to be more specific) you can read about site-specific recombination on wiki and add few lines on intra-molecular eg. Excisions and inversions occur if the recombination takes place between two sites that are found on the same molecule (intramolecular recombination).As there are no sgs1 and wrn genes article on wiki, you may remove the tag and mention one line description for each. The first line in 'In yeast strains' needs editing. Also, it will be best if you can mention one line about grande and petite strain (you can add tag on petite, there is article on wiki. In Xenopus section: maybe you can write extrachromosomal circular DNA to maintain consistency and perhaps a few lines description on 'retrograde response'. It's going great! Thanks Suhani, I included the link for homologous recombination. I will try to get the intra-molecular portion more specific. Corrected the first line.

Please clarify the difference between ERC and eccDNA - is an ERC a subtype of an eccDNA? What is the word "additional" referring to - additional to what? One question, out of curiosity - is it known whether the relationship of ERCs and aging is purely correlational, or are there any experiments showing causation? Please clarify the section about the Cohen et al. paper - what is the interpretation of "eccDNA decreased with the degradation of amplified rDNA"? Is the "excess of rDNA sequences" referring to Xenopus embryos with an excess? What are the biological implications of the fact that more rDNA does not mean more ERCs (if I understood that sentence correctly)? What is the "retrograde response"?
