Convenience Fees
[edit]I'm no expert in the fee industry, but I think that "convenience fee" probably deserves it own page. My reasoning is that these because-we-can fees have become so prevalent in the US, and across so many consumer-realm products, that the name 'convenience fee' is become cliche. It should be noted to people whom don't live inside the US and whom live in nations with stronger consumer regulations, convenience fees are extra costs that are incurred after a quote is performed to make a product or service appear cheaper until after a contract or agreement is completed. Convenience fees are justified to cover additional costs incurred to provide added-value service to the customer, but that in many occasions that logic is defied (such as a utility charging $3 dollars to pay a bill electronically over the phone in an automated system, as opposed to mailing a check for free, even though the manual teller processes cost more for the firm.) I believe that such a page can evolve to experience a healthy and organic growth in a relatively short period.
