Plate gall wasp[edit]

Hi, @Jengod, is the plate gall wasp mentioned in your update of this stub Andricus pattersonae, or something else? EponineBunnyKickQueen (talk) 23:38, 26 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@EponineBunnyKickQueen Something else! Per Russo it doesn't have a binomial name yet (and it looks quite different than this guy). Based on Joyce Gross's photos this other plate-gall wasp galls is very orange-y and is shaped like saucer but with a hole punched out in the center where you'd set the teacup.
PLATE-GALL WASP Unknown #8 Pl. 171 - pages 129–130 - "Galls of this species differ from those of Andricus gigas (Plate 133), which are thin and reddish with crenate margins; while the galls of A. parmula (Plate 137) are glossy, red-purple, and often striped."
