[edit]

Thanks for allowing editing. I had read a book FINAL DIAGNOSIS in 1960s or 70s,the plot of which was completely different. In the book I am referring to(I do not recall author's name), consultant pathologist of a US hospital goes to airport with his wife to receive a junior pathologist appointed under him. While returning from airport, their car is hit by a truck entering from a side road killing the senior pathologist's wife. Loss of wife breaks him down. The story goes on...... He becomes more and more careless and, looses contact with recent advances. The junior fall in love with a nurse in the same hospital. The nurse, gets injured in the knee while diving in the swimming pool. The swelling does not go with routine treatment. A biopsy is submitted for diagnosis. The senior misdiagnoses it. The swelling keeps growing. The biopsy is reviewed and OSTEOSARCOMA is diagnosed by the junior using more recent techniques. The senior is sacked and packs up. n real life, relationship of trauma to tumor is a really confusing factor resulting in wrong diagnosis. I think that the book being referred to is The Final Diagnosis by Arthur Hailey. FerdinandFrog (talk) 18:56, 13 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
