They are not the same at all. You can't tamp with a fire rake, among other differences. Trail crews use Mcleods all the time and never carry fire rakes. 10/14/09
Agree with the previous comment -- very different tools. What's needed is a photo of a fire rake on that page, which would help greatly to clarify the difference. I've done a lot of trail maintenance work; we use McLeods extensively -- it's arguably our most useful tool -- but would never think of using a fire rake.
