- Will review later. SounderBruce 06:04, 15 May 2020 (UTC)
Infobox and lead
[edit]- The lead is quite short given the length of the article. Giving each iteration of the flag about 2 sentences should be enough.
Design and symbolism
[edit]First flag
[edit]Second flag
[edit]Third flag
[edit]Rediscovery and use of second flag
[edit]- If the writer was so influential in the flag narrative, perhaps they should be named (along with their publication/project).
Proposed redesign

[edit]Citations
[edit]- Citation 1 is not a reliable source
- Citations 2 and 5 should credit the Columbus government as the author of the code
- Citation 4 seems to be a wiki, though run by a reputable organization. I would suggest finding a better source.
- Ohio History Central is a wiki-style publication of the Ohio History Connection, written by their historians, and not editable by the public. I would doubt any information to be disreputable. ɱ (talk) 02:10, 23 June 2020 (UTC)
- Citation 6 needs publisher information (especially if using the journal version rather than the book version)
- Citation 7 has a spelling error in the publication's name
- Citation 9 needs to use a proper author, as I doubt the whole station was involved
- Citation 13 needs a page number
- Citation 14 needs to be paired with a non-primary source
- Citation 15 is unreliable and needs to be replaced
- This is an official publication of the Ohio State University, and should not be viewed as disreputable, but the content is mirrored elsewhere. ɱ (talk) 02:10, 23 June 2020 (UTC)
- At the time of the review, citation 15 was a Tumblr post, which, in hindsight, isn’t very reliable. --Jordano53 (talk) 02:22, 23 June 2020 (UTC)
- Wasn't that 14? ɱ (talk) 03:11, 23 June 2020 (UTC)
- 14 was NAVA’s info on NAVA 46. --Jordano53 (talk) 03:38, 23 June 2020 (UTC)

- Citation 16 needs a more specific publisher than the university as a whole.
- Citation 17 needs the full name of the publication.
- Citation 19 should use "MLSsoccer.com" as the work parameter, as it is separate from MLS publications
Sorry for the wait! I've gone through the sources and will look at the prose soon. SounderBruce 07:48, 20 June 2020 (UTC)
- @SounderBruce: No worries about the wait! I've implemented the changes you've requested. --Jordano53 (talk) 01:59, 23 June 2020 (UTC)
@SounderBruce: can we have an update on this? ɱ (talk) 14:14, 30 July 2020 (UTC)
@SounderBruce: I hate to sound impatient, but what is supposed to be a week-long process has taken over three months. If you don't have time to review the article, can we have a different reviewer? --Jordano53 (talk) 15:14, 21 August 2020 (UTC)
- Jordano53, I still plan on reviewing when I have time (which is limited due to the pandemic). GAN is usually under a long backlog for reviews and there is no expectation of a review taking just a week. SounderBruce 20:43, 21 August 2020 (UTC)
- Apologies. Read the reviewing instructions wrong. —Jordano53 (talk) 21:30, 21 August 2020 (UTC)
- @Jordano53: I'll continue the review, and as I'm no expert on flag articles, will be comparing this to the GA Flag of Ohio. Kingsif (talk) 19:48, 16 October 2020 (UTC)
- I feel the sentence
The eagle is grasping on to a single yellow star, which, with the 16 stars, represents Ohio as the seventeenth state to join the Union.
could be more explicit that the eagle's star is in addition to the 16, and mention where the eagle holds the star. Also, it would be "grasping onto" if that phrasing is kept. - The full name of the North American Vexillological Association should be mentioned at the first NAVA instance, earlier in the paragraph.
- Probably separate the NAVA flag from the "rediscovery" of the city flag.
- I'd mention efforts to remove Columbus references in its own section, though just expanding on this in the Proposed redesign section would probably be adequate.
- I don't think heart needs a wikilink.
- Perhaps a few too many images used: is the last one needed?
- If there is no more coverage, this looks to be all my further comments. A source check seems good and the copyvio check is not concerning. Kingsif (talk) 19:58, 16 October 2020 (UTC)
- @Kingsif: Thanks for the review! I've implemented the suggested changes. I've kept the last image to show an example of use within the city and instead chose to remove the image of the NAVA flag. I do not believe it is important enough to use and the last image is, in my opinion, a good example of how the flag is used within the city. Again, thank you. Jordano53 (talk) 20:47, 16 October 2020 (UTC)
- @Jordano53: I'm happy with that reason, looks good to pass. Kingsif (talk) 21:55, 16 October 2020 (UTC)
