This was promoted as a GA back before the realization that the writer was a sock of a community banned user known for massive copyright violations. In searching through the provided sources, sure enough, there is plenty. In "Mammals of the eastern United States", the primary source used, the following is in the article:
- "In 1973, a biochemical polymorphism study was conducted in four sample areas of the species. Electrophoretically demonstrable variation was found in one or more populations at 15 of 39 (38%) of the loci examined, and two and sometimes three alleles per locus were detected. At the least, the findings give an indication of the kind of genetic variation that may be found between populations within a species. The amount of variation was similar to findings in examinations of Peromyscus polionotus, Sigmodon, and Dipodomys." Meanwhile, in the source, the text says the following:
- Smith et al (1973) did an interesting study of biochemical polymorphism in this species in four sample areas. Electrophoretically demonstrable variation was found in one or more populations at 15 of 39 (38%) of the loci examined, and two and sometimes three alleles per locus were detected. These findings give some idea, at least, of the kind of genetic variation that may be found between populations within a species. The amount of variation detected here was similar to findings in examinations of Peromyscus polionotus, Sigmodon, and Dipodomys."
As you can see, outside of the minimally paraphrased first sentence, the rest of the paragraph is almost a complete copypaste of the source material. This continues elsewhere in the article. As a result, I'm sending it to WP:CP, and after removing Suzanne2009NYC's contributions we will only be left with a stub, so suffice to say it cannot remain a GA. The copyright problems have been removed and the article stubbified, so this is now delisted. Wizardman 03:09, 8 November 2022 (UTC)
