- I have created a new article Vacamatic and redistributed some text between Fluid Drive, Vacamatic, Presto-Matic and Semi-automatic transmission. I think this makes the subject easier to follow. Biscuittin (talk) 21:01, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
Not so Simplimatic
[edit]Flory (American Cars 1946-1959 {Jefferson, NC: McFarland & Coy, 2008}, p.1017) equates Gyro-Matic, Prestomatic, & Tip-Toe Shift with Hy-Drive, not Fluid Drive. Is he wrong? (He also repeatedly says new cam =up compression...) TREKphiler hit me ♠ 06:13, 12 October 2009 (UTC)
Why did it stop being made?
[edit]This says it was made until 1953/54 depending on make. What happened to cause this to end? Robertm25 (talk) 18:16, 23 March 2024 (UTC)
