I don't understand why Teal'c has to kill Sha're, and not just jump and push her aside, holding her arm to free Daniel from the hand device... --Eddy Faris 22:43, 22 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Real answer: Because that wouldn't give you an hour of air-time. Answer within the show: Uh...I got nothing. To be honest, that's bothered me for a long time. Even if he can't reach her in time to push her aside, he could always just shoot her hand to break the device, or shoot her in the leg to knock her down. JBK405 12:44, 7 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Staff weapons are ridiculously inaccurate (as O'Neill puts it, they're "weapons of terror", not weapons of war). Even allowing for the fact that Teal'c's the man, the chest shot is the right call in the situation. He's got just one chance, after all. Besides, Daniel's going to die in a couple of seconds. Who's to say that Teal'c's mind is being particularly tactical about the situation? Unsatisfying, sure, and post-creative rationalization, no doubt, but it's not really that far-fetched. Horus Guards

[edit]

For some reason, in this episode Amonet is seen being guarded by Jaffa of the Horus Guards - The large, bird-helmeted Jaffa that Teal'c specifically said served the family of Ra, and who we've seen guarding Heru-ur since Ra's death in the movie. Heru-ur and Apophis are mortal enemies, and Heru-ur has taken hostile action against Amonet, too, so why does she have his Jaffa under her command? Has there been any explanation for this?
