Name[edit]

"Le Foudroyant ("the lightening one")":
I don't know the exact meaning, but I thought the English equivalent of this word, particularly as a ship name, would be "Thunderbolt".
(See here) There's picture in the Louvre on the subject, though I can't remember if this is it.
