I agree that these articles be merged. I will attempt that soon.

The second paragraph seems biased. I've found that local laws permit the use of pumps. I propose deleting it altogether.

The final paragraph is all wrong. Before the invention of fried clams, soft shelled clams were not eaten at all. Now they are eaten fried, steamed, or in chowder. No has, or ever will, eat soft shell clams raw. I will include references to soft shell clams during the merge, to clarify this. Bwpach 18:21, 9 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
