Terminology
[edit]Googling "Frigate Navy" returns lots of links to Marines In The Frigate Navy, a book about the US navy of the early 1800s, and essentially nothing else. Except for Wikipedia mirrors. Ditto Google Books, which suggests that it's just a simple slang term for the US navy of those times. In my opinion this article should be condensed down into half a sentence ("the US Navy was occasionally known as a frigate navy, as its largest units were frigates"(source)), inserted into United States Navy, and then deleted. -Ashley Pomeroy (talk) 19:44, 18 September 2015 (UTC)
