Article title/Merge to Gemmail?

This article may have been mistakenly created because of a language misunderstanding. The word gemmaux is merely the plural of the French word gemmail, which refers to a stained glass techniquethat does not use lead between the pieces, developed in the 1930s. Any article on this technique should be titled Gemmail. That article did exist, but is was redirected two years ago to a section of Stained glass. I think the term Gemmail warrants a small article, that the redirect should be undone, and that Gemmaux should be merged to Gemmail. Eric ^talk 16:24, 12 January 2010 (UTC)

I agree with your proposals. I don't know what the deleted article looked like, but what's over in Stained glass is very minimal. If such an article is written, it would be helpful if English-language sources could be cited as well. Best, CliffC (talk) 17:10, 12 January 2010 (UTC)

It'll never be a vast article, but there's a small one on fr, and the term appears in a couple French reference books. It's tough to sort through the stuff you find on the web, and there ain't much in en--many mentions of gemmail/gemmaux seem to originate from Québec, even when you're looking at search hits that look to be France-based. I get the impression that a couple en wp contributors, including the creator of this article, might be connected to Québec-based commercial sites that promote works in gemmail. Well, any sourced article is better than no article. My impression on commercial connections is similar to your own, I removed a link to gemmail dot com from the original version of this, it led (at the time) to a web developer's site. Best, CliffC (talk) 18:22, 12 January 2010 (UTC)
