Seems US Focused[edit]

The article seems focused on the geological history of the west coast of the contiguous United States rather then the whole continent of North America. I've seen some articles in Wikipedia relevant to the west coast of Canada, including: Intermontane Plate, Insular Plate, Geology of British Columbia. I haven't looked for info on the Mexican west coast. I'm not an expert on the subject, but I'll take some info on those other pages I mentioned and add it to this one. I hope someone who knows more about it can improve the article to reflect the entire west coast of North America. Dappawit (talk) 21:41, 15 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. I just added the worldwide template to this article so it can be more obvious. Volcanoguy 19:39, 7 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It is focused on a particular region. Which I think could be perfectly fine, as not every topic of interest is necessarily global. And the geology of the southwestern U.S. and northern Mexico is sufficiently distinct from neighboring areas and so complex that a specific timeline could be useful. But to do that this article would need to be more explicitly focused on the appropriate area.
However, there is a more serious problem: the content of the article is inaccurate. It needs more thorough research. - J. Johnson (JJ) (talk) 20:17, 12 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
