Information to add or check[edit]

This appears to be fairly correct to my memory, but I thought the William Twigg was open before the local shops? does anyone else think this?

I have been looking for more history on "East Lodge" as this was a very old building (possibly a hunting lodge from when Great Hollands was part of Windsor great Park. I notice with some sadness that this building has been pulled down and often wondered why part of the building had photography and video equipment in it, some link to the sudden closure of the adventure playgrounds? this closure is also an area that needs some research and light spreading on it what was the reason behind it?

It would be nice also if there was some mention of Home Farm (long demolished) and the Downshires narrow gauge railway that ran through the town, Old shed was in the grounds of Easthampstead Park School and some track was evident in Bluebell woods before it was developed by BMW.

I would be keen to hear comments from any older folks who were around before Great Hollands was developed and know about its history prior to the development, some fruit farming appears to have been evident. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.178.3.120 (talk) 10:19 25 October 2008 (UTC)

Some of this info[edit]

East Lodge was indeed a hunting lodge on the Easthampstead Park Estate (much of Great Hollands was carved out of the estate, I believe). I've never heard of the light railway though - would have to investigate (I grew up in GH and my parents still live there)
