need verification[edit]

We need to verify this material. The first hit on google makes this sound like a slang or local term. It isn't a medical term as far as I can tell. We need to make sure this isn't an urban legend.

What is the correct medical term for this? RJFJR 04:17, 25 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Combine with '5-alpha-reductase deficiency'?[edit]

There is an existing page '5-alpha-reductase deficiency'. I have cross-referrenced that page with this (and added medical and documentary external links to both) but I think they could be combined.

  • Guevedoche is a term for one of specific groups in a specific places who have this deficiency. I suggest that we could transfer the medical information to the medical article and concentrate on guevedoche as a group in this article - Skysmith 17:39, 1 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Agree with merge proposal - this is generally considered to be a local for 5-alpha-reductase deficiency. This article would probably do better as a heading of that article. It also runs into naming problems here, as "Guevedoche" is not the english name (WP:NAME)

Reservations about merge proposal If any merge takes place it is important that the Guevedoche page becomes a part of the 5-alpha-reductase deficiency page rather than vice versa. Terms like Guedevoche suggest that 5-alpha involves women becoming men. The fact is that not all those with 5-alpha will later identify as male (the 5-alpha page makes this very clear).

To be honest I wonder whether there is anything currently on this page which is not already found on the 5-alpha page anyway. Why bother with a 'merge' when this page is superfluous already? Just delete the 'Guedevoche' page.
