Missing link[edit]

It looks like the third reference, from Aqualand Pets Plus, is using the link from the first reference, to Aquaworld. Is there an extra link missing? --Demiurge1000 (talk) 01:58, 14 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, someone had copy-pasted the wrong link into the reference, I have fixed it now, although one of the links no longer exists. It can still be reached through archives of web pages though and is the only source for the information. Please do feel free to search for a more reliable reference about the first import, if you like! Kat (talk) 12:10, 28 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Merging[edit]

I think since this page is a stub, we should merge it to the Gyrinocheilus page. Does anyone agree?--Parasect (Discuss) 19:58, 31 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

No: because it is a popular aquarium species (which is often confused with other species), it deserves its own article. I agree that it is currently a poor article and in need of much improvement. Kat (talk) 08:11, 24 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
It's not really a stub any more ;) Kat (talk) 12:10, 28 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Cooperation with other species[edit]

Gyrinocheilus aymonieri is known to cooperate with angel fish, Bettas, and three spot gouramis.[1]

I removed the above from the article because the reference is not reliable and does not mention cooperation between the species. The reference only mentioned Betta splendens when some individual asks whether the leftovers are enough food for the G. aymoneiri. It also mentiones Pterophyllum scalare and Trichogaster trichopterus when someone "bet[s] on that if you kept Angelfish, Blue Gouramis or larger fish there, then your CAE won’t harass them". I can add that as a relatively experienced fish keeper, I have never heard of cooperation between G. aymoneiri and any other species. In fact, the species is "known" to become very aggressive with age towards all fish. Kat (talk) 08:11, 24 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
