HMS Plover
[edit]The entry for HMS Plover has a contradiction within it. In the specifications it lists it as having two triple expansion steam engines, in the text it says it has two steam turbines. It cannot have both. I suspect, given the age and quoted hull speed, the engines would be unlikely to be steam turbines. (2.98.198.141 (talk) 07:53, 20 April 2011 (UTC))
The heading has HMS Plover's pennant number as M26. It should be N26. I have a photograph of the vessel with the correct number painted on the side. Additionally I served in the ship as a Boy Seaman in 1956. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.212.133.28 (talk) 21:18, 9 September 2012 (UTC)
- And how do you know that she wasn't renumbered post-war? The photo in Lenton's book doesn't show any visible pennant #.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 23:18, 9 September 2012 (UTC)
- And Lenton shows all minelayers used flag superior M in 1940 and kept those pennant numbers throughout the war.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 17:40, 10 September 2012 (UTC)
