Should we mention it was called the G2? Mathiastck (talk) 07:16, 26 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Disagree. It is not called "G2" in official statement. Many web acticle called it "G2", but I doubt if it is the real G2.
If many websites/people refer to it as the G2, it is worth mentioning the fact that many people call it this. --Smremde (talk) 10:43, 23 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
T-Mobile UK (and possibly in other locales) calls the HTC Hero the T-Mobile G2 Touch. [1] --Jaybeeunix (talk) 18:25, 5 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Now it is officially known as the Google Ion, according to CNET: http://reviews.cnet.com/smartphones/google-ion-htc-magic/4505-6452_7-33665904.html?tag=contentMain;compare . "It's over 9000!" 00:48, 25 June 2009 (UTC)

Just because the developer phone given to attendees of the Google I/O conference is called that does not make it the "official" name. T-Mobile USA is still marketing it under the name "T-Mobile myTouch 3G" (see http://www.t-mobilemytouch.com/?&WT.ac=MT_ComingSoon_TMOp_HP_1 and http://www.t-mobile.com/). Release in the US

[edit]

I was in a T-mobile store last week to buy a new phone and didn't see this. The sales person didn't mention it. Is T-mobile selling this phone? 67.52.10.186 (talk) 07:46, 11 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

They are selling it. It came out on August 5th. —Preceding unsigned comment added by MadFoxInABox (talkcontribs) 17:38, 11 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

hardware versions

[edit]

There are two hardware revisions - they are described in the article.

The problem is that figuring out which models use the 32A hardware (better) and which use 32B is getting ever more difficult. If we could confirm this information it would be good to add to the article. The distinction is important because only the 32A has been confirmed to be getting the Android 2 update (so far).

32A HTC Magic (more RAM) - Vodophone HTC Magic - HTC Magic as sold by Rogers in Canaa

32B Google phone - Original T-Mobile myTouch.

Not sure about these two? - T-Mobile myTouch Fender Edition? - T-Mobile myTouch v1.2?

Does it have a proximity sensor (as it is mentioned in the hardware profile)? My 32A doesn't. Mgiann (talk) 10:10, 20 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Radiation emissions

[edit]

The link does not confirm the statement in the article. Can someone confirm this? CoNaan (talk) 09:09, 20 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

About provider exclusivity

[edit]

Don't know about other countries, but in Germany the Vodafone provider exclusivity does not mean you have to have a contract with Vodafone in order to get the Magic. You just can't buy the phone anywhere else than in a Vodafone store or on their web site. The device itself works fine with any SIM card.

5.0 megapixel camera

[edit]

http://phandroid.com/t-mobile-mytouch-3g/ says that the US release has a 5.0 megapixel camera, any verification? --Shentok (talk) 05:26, 5 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

http://www.htc.com/www/product/magic/specification.html says 3.2. It also lists form RAM 288, but I think this varies with different versions. Under bands though, it says they do vary with different versions, so perhaps I am mistaken about the RAM variance. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Chrismiceli (talkcontribs) 16:27, 5 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This page doesn't have a picture. Can we use this one? Media:HTC_Magic_G2.png. The quality of the photo is not amazing, but it's better than nothing. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bvankuik (talkcontribs) 10:29, 10 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
