The lastname Hakett is not of Norman roots
[edit]Halkett strongly looks unNorman. The belief that the lastname Halkett is of Norman roots is in all likelihood the workaday wishful thinking for prestigous Latinate names within Britain. Would reckon the -kett to be a sundered spelling of -cott.
