I can't say I really understand the distinction drawn in the list of persons named Hank. Very few if any of them listed as "given name" actually have Hank as their given name; most of them are named Henry and several have completely different given names. 128.205.94.182 (talk) 20:40, 25 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Was it really influenced by the Dutch version of Henry? Or was it derived from a Middle English diminutive form of Henry? (I.e. it might have perhaps been Henkin or Hankin, much like Jack) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 211.31.33.242 (talk) 13:03, 29 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
