Harvest Square entry

[edit]

Somebody thinks it is appropriate to talk about a new shopping center called Harvest Square. I'm sorry, but in my opinion, a generic suburban shopping center is NOT significant enough for an encyclopedia entry. There is nothing unique about Publix, Domino's, and a Mexican restaurant coming to a suburb. I'm going to revert the edit again unless someone gives me a good reason why it should be included in the article. Huntsville89 (talk) 21:02, 22 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well I can state that I feel that it is good information. The article presently states: "Retail trade is rapidly expanding as of 2004. Service industries such as automotive repair and many others are growing rapidly. The area is a center of small businesses servicing a wide area".

This is generic enough to tell me nothing. THe point of the new shopping center is that Harvest is becoming a real town. People are moving to the area, and finally there are services to support. This is no longer the country now it is the suberbs. I feel the economy section should reflect this. 128.158.211.200 (talk) 11:16, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There's a Publix in Meridianville. Moores Mill also has one. Do you see any mention of the store in those articles? Once again, there is nothing special about a Huntsville suburb having a Publix, a Redstone Federal Credit Union, and an Advance Auto Parts; it just sounds like local boosterism that doesn't belong in an encyclopedia article. Now, if someone adds something that doesn't directly mention these stores, such as this, then there wouldn't be a conflict: "Retail trade is rapidly expanding as of 2008, with the construction of new stores and restaurants which coincide with continuing residential growth. The area's businesses serve a wide area, encompassing much of Northwest Madison County and Northeast Limestone County." Huntsville89 (talk) 01:11, 30 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I added your words. I have no interest in boosting the area. I've lived there several years, and those who live in the area find the above growth unexpected and surprising.

Update economy

[edit]

The economy section is talking about home construction stats from 2003. Probably timer for an update. RJFJR (talk) 16:34, 22 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
