Should this article exist?
[edit]I've just removed the {{selfref}} tag added to this, because I think the article does no harm and is useful to keep. It replaced a redirect to Footnote which was not useful. It's an orphan and should remain so... but if anyone actually looks for "hatnote" they will be informed of the context in which it is used (WP) and given a link to where it's explained. The arguments at Wikipedia:Self-references to avoid are (a) that self-refs "distract from the topic at hand" - not so here; and (b) that they "limit the use of Wikipedia as an open source encyclopedia suitable for forking", but presumably any use of WP would involve selecting a subset of linked or categorised articles, and this little orphan would never be in such a selection. - Just have it as a redirect to Wikipedia:Hatnote. Or is this against some policy? Lord Sesshomaru (talk • edits) 20:16, 13 September 2008 (UTC)
