Erm... Kain from Legacy of Kain isn't incorporeal, that's Raziel. Kain is just a vampire. 204.112.165.37 23:27, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
That's true, however, this episode is almost certainly intended to be an allusion to the Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver games. Simon Templeman is the voice actor of Kain, the creator of Raziel. Like Spike in this episode, Raziel is a vampire forced into being stuck in a wraithlike form because of a malevolent figure (Kain/Pavayne, both of whom are Simon), vampires who have become disembodied spirits. Raziel, like Spike, is being drawn back into the underworld and needs to find a way to stay in the material world. The character of the Elder God, voiced by Tony Jay rather than Simon, is much like Pavayne essentially feeding off of souls. Spike's own words about not being afraid of spooky things because he is a ghost vampire, and then subsequently being spooked out, is precisely the effect players of Raziel experience as a vampire wraith fighting vampires and other supernatural creatures. The Legacy of Kain games had all, except for one, been released well before this episode, and the final Kain game came out one month after. Legacy of Kain has made its way onto vampire media before - the main character of My Mom Has a Date with a Vampire is seen playing Soul Reaver 1, which came out in 2000, 3 years before this episode. With Simon's involvement in the episode a month before his final portrayal of Kain (which resolves the vampire wraith story of Raziel), I think it's virtually impossible that the connection isn't meaningful. Some allusion to it should be on the main episode page. But I am leaving this comment here for others to decide how it should be managed. - BoethianAcolyte 6 December 2017
