Copy paste move and disambiguation

[edit]

I am not entirely sure if this should be a disambiguation. The entries other than the primary one do not use this as an alternative term in their leads. More importantly the copy paste move to Hill-topping (biology) lost the edit history of the article. (Now this page has lost its edit history) Shyamal (talk) 02:51, 19 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for starting this discussion. "Disambiguation is required whenever, for a given word or phrase on which a reader might search, there is more than one existing Wikipedia article to which that word or phrase might be expected to lead." Wikipedia:Disambiguation#Deciding_to_disambiguate (emphasis added). In other words, there is no requirement for an exact title match.
I'm not sure how many folks are all that interested in ancient edit histories. But my guess is that they are (a) far fewer than those who will be helped by a disambiguation page and (b) proficient enough Wikipedians that they can find the missing history.
You seem to know more about page creation than I do. Is one solution to start a new "Hill toppers (disambiguation)" page? Butwhatdoiknow (talk) 01:18, 20 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
