School district merger proposal

[edit]

@MB: Hi! Thanks for helping with the article! Anyhow I personally think a merger is not a good idea. The reason why school districts usually have separate articles is because they have local elected school boards with their own tax bases, effectively being local governments. Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Common_outcomes#School_districts states ""Populated, legally-recognized places" include school districts, which conveys near-inherent notability to school districts per Wikipedia:Notability (geography)." It's also why small municipalities are notable. WhisperToMe (talk) 06:52, 25 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

WhisperToMe, I am aware of all that. WP:NGEO starts out with "Geographical features meeting Wikipedia's General notability guideline (GNG) are presumed, but not guaranteed, to be notable." Notability still requires coverage. This district is so small and there is so little coverage I fail to see any reason why it needs a separate article and why merging with the community article is "not a good ideal". There are actually no sources in the article of the type needed to pass GNG. One short article on two closely related places is better than two micro-stubs.
You also put this in the wrong place, the merge discussion is at Talk:Hillside, Arizona. MB 14:05, 25 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I see... I was not aware there was already a discussion there. WhisperToMe (talk) 17:39, 25 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
