Creation of History of Deep Creek Lake, Maryland article[edit]
The Garrett County Historical Society Museum provided a wealth of Deep Creek Lake history details. These are from: "Garrett County History", handout-material prepared by John A. Grant for a Garrett College, Garrett County History course during 2001 and 2002. This public domain content is available on the Garrett County Historical Society Museum site and is available to be reproduced here with their permission.
I’ve used my Wikipedia editing and publishing knowledge and experience to augment John Grant's material with information I collected from Maryland Department of Natural Resourcess. Deep Creek Lake has evolved from its beginning in 1923 into the centerpiece of tourism in Western Maryland. I believe we have a solid foundation for creating a rich and engaging article about the history of this lovely lake.

Who wants to help get this article to the highest possible Wikipedia standards?[edit]
Presently, knowledgeable Garrett County area historians and individuals are needed to scrutinize and polish this articles with the goal of meeting the highest possible Wikipedia standards. Merge discussion for History of Deep Creek Lake, Maryland[edit]
This article (History) gives much more comprehensive information on the lake, whereas the article on the lake seems to be little more than a stub. I suggest cleaning up the information in this article a little bit and moving/merging it to the article on the lake itself. Tckma (talk) 14:41, 18 August 2010 (UTC)
Copyvio[edit]
I just removed tons of copyrighted text that basically made up the entirety of the article. ALl that's left is non-historical introductory info about the lake, so this should probably just be merged into the main Deep Creek article. SheepNotGoats (talk) 17:39, 23 March 2011 (UTC)
