Merger proposal

[edit]

I propose that Newchapel, Surrey be merged into Horne, Surrey. I think that the content in the Newchapel, Surrey article can easily be explained in the context of Horne, Surrey, and the Horne, Surrey article is of a reasonable size that the merging of Newchapel, Surrey will not cause any problems as far as article size or undue weight is concerned. - Adam37 Talk 10:55, 6 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I prefer Newchapel as a stand-alone entry. There is a wealth of information on the area, which requires entry. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.109.161.68 (talk) 14:39, 3 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Also opposed. Newchapel may be regarded as a district of Lingfield (Judging by the map) but I can see no connection to Horne. Op47 (talk) 19:44, 10 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Since the above, Newchapel has suffered neglect, understandably as an article. There is not a "wealth of information" about it, there is more about the fictional hamlet of Lark Rise than about it. As to the second objection, I note the nearest clutch of houses is Lingfield proper but Horne is its civil parish which organises all sorts of social, planning and recreational secular things (let alone the C of E parish, let's not go there for fear of offence) for Newchapel. It is a shame both objectors' points were so poor. They have a better place in the realms of estate agency or the Confederation of House Builders by portraying it as a very large place indeed, whereas it is just a petty hamlet, like any other and not an encyclopedic or inherently interesting place in its own right. Why don't you turn much of it into a bigger A22 if that line of overinflation (of what is a splatter of houses) continues or applies to its main feature too and I can certainly write more about a bypass road than is there at present. I am not tucking it away but telling Newchapel as it is.- Adam37 Talk 15:27, 26 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
