early example?[edit]

This sentence seems problematic - protest songs go back many many centuries.2A01:CB08:8BE:AA00:15AD:612A:C84:5BDD (talk) 10:32, 10 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Elimination of orphan status[edit]

I suggest that a new article be started, entitled "Blind Alfred Reed" because this article is beginning to resemble a biography of Reed. A link in that article to this article would eliminate the orphan status, and allow this article to become more precise and devoted more towards the song, not Reed himself. Follow-up on Above Entry User "Gulf3" started the article Blind Alfred Reed. It links to two articles; this article "How Can a Poor Man Stand Such Times and Live?" and the "Bristol sessions." In turn, this article links to Blind Alfred Reed, thus it is no longer an orphaned article. I'm planning to work on cleanup of this article, to make it more about the song than about the man himself, since he has his own article now. Uncategorized Page[edit]

In April 2008, the article "How Can A Poor Man Stand Such Times and Live?" was classed as an uncategorized page. Please categorize this page to eliminate this status. Some category possibilities can be found on the articles of other old-time singers of the same era, e.g. Jimmie Rogers or The Carter Family. (63.246.240.137 (talk) 20:10, 21 April 2008 (UTC))[reply]
