Length of time that fracking has been used in New Zealand[edit]

I will ignore the claim by Bernie Napp in his opinion piece that fracking has been carried out in NZ for 40 years. It has been used in other countries for about that long but the NZ govt are only committing themselves to a period of about eight years. -- Alan Liefting (talk - contribs) 04:18, 12 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Tag Oil abandonment in Gisborne[edit]

Tag oil found "gas at a shallow depth, under extremely high pressure", at Waitangi Valley in Gisbourne, and discontinued a well. They are tidying up after themselves.

This may mean that fracking below that point in the formation is unsafe, because that gas may break the well pipe through it. Someone who knows what they're talking about, and how to cite audio correctly, should write all of this into the main article.
