Anyone know what 'canny gun boy' means?

[edit]

I did a google search and saw canny was a particular gun make. Is there some sort of Irish cultural thing about this?

@Dudanotak: It's Scots. In the original traditional song, "canny gaun man", where canny is warily or cautiously and gaun is going. So, someone who is not impetuous. "Canny" can also mean skilled, which is the sense one would get in "canny gun man"; someone skilled with a gun. See [1] for more. - Ryk72 'c.s.n.s.' 11:01, 1 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
