Question: Why is the release date listed as 1977, but the classifiers at the bottom list it as a 1972 book? (It seems like an oversight.)

The categorizer was probably going by the novella release year. --Gwern (contribs) 19:16 7 June 2007 (GMT)

Comet or asteroid?

[edit]

The article text introduces Icarus as a comet, then later refers to it as an asteroid. It would be helpful if someone familiar with the book could clarify this, including if Benford was basing the object on the near-Earth asteroid 1566 Icarus. Eric talk 18:31, 6 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
