This article is incomprehensible! Please try to explain in simple terms what it is and what it is good for. Thanks.

Please check out the article, "Smart Common Input Method (SCIM)", I can use their template if you find it easier to understand. Dychen (talk) 04:21, 18 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Korean - ibus-hangul[edit]

The article says that "to produce proper syllable divisions in iBus, users have to press "right arrow" after typing each syllable, in comparison with every other Windows or Linux IME (such as SCIM) which does this automatically." I don't know anything about previous versions, but in the current version I'm using with Ubuntu, 1.2.0.20090617-2 (karmic), this problem does not exist.Zeniff 23:48, 14 April 2010 (UTC)

I removed the sentence. Zeniff 22:06, 14 May 2010 (UTC)

IBus' ibus-hangul doesn't seem to be able to enter some special characters (non-Hanja) such as ☆♡♬※♧☏☜ (at least in version 1.2.0.20090617-2 (karmic)), unlike some other input methods such as SCIM and Windows' Korean IME. In SCIM and Windows, it's done easily by entering various single consonants and then pressing the Hanja key.Zeniff 23:48, 14 April 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by ZeniffMartineau (talkcontribs)

I've found the newest versions now allow special characters in the same manner as SCIM and Windows. Zeniff 22:06, 14 May 2010 (UTC)

Tegaki[edit]

I added ibus-tegaki as an IME to the Swedish article, maybe someone can add it to this one? More info at tegaki.org C.Nilsson (talk) 00:51, 6 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
