Differentiation

[edit]

Il-6 and Il-1B have been recently shown to promote differentiation/neurogenesis in Neural Stem/Progenitor Cells, as per Barko et al., 2006). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 165.82.80.22 (talk) 15:14, 5 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

assorted problems

[edit]

The majority of interleukins are synthesized by helper CD4 T lymphocytes, as well as through monocytes - Shouldn't through be by?

History and name - The term was coined by Dr Vern Paetkau - Add . after Dr

Interleukin 1 - Molecular cloning of the Interleukin 1 Beta converting enzyme is generated by the proteolytic cleavage - does not make sense (& should Beta be capitalized?)

Interleukin 1 also plays a role in the Central Nervous System - central nervous system should not be capitalized

hippocampal-dependent memory functioning and Long-term potentiation - long-term should not be capitalized

Interleukin 2 etc. - box - Why is PDB given twice?

Interleukin 8 - There is no summary box

Interleukin 9 - Early studies had indicated that Interleukin 9 and 7 seem to be evolutionary? related (should be evolutionarily)

much closer to both, IL-2 and IL-15, than to IL-7 - Delete both ,s

the study showed irreconcilable structural differences between IL-7 and all the remaining cytokines signalling through the yc receptor ( IL-2, IL-4, IL-7, IL-9, IL-15 and IL-21) - Delete extra space before IL-2; irreconcilable difference between IL-7 and IL-7? (and why then is there a single summary box for IL-7 & IL-9?)

IL-10 - with human protein mda-7. - Change . to ,

Interleukin 11 - (it has since been shown to be redundant to? normal platelet formation) - Shouldn't that be redundant for?

Interleukin 12 - Why is there a summary box for the alpha subunit but not for the beta subunit?

List of human interleukins - IL-2 - to raise CD4 counts in HIV positive patients - Add - after HIV

IL-12 - IR12RB2 - Should this be IL12RB2?

IL-13 - TH2-cells - Should probably be Th2 cells

inhibits TH1-cells - Should probably be Th1 cells

IL-18 - macrophages m,v,v, - Should v be repeated?

IL-21 - NKT cells - Should there be a space after NK?

augment NK cytotoxicity - Should be augments

IL-25 - T Cells - cells shouldn't be capitalized

Induces the production ? IL-4,

IL-27 - Regulates the activity of B lymphocyte - Add s to lymphocyte

IL-33 - Induces helper T cells to produce type 2 cytokine - Should that be cytokines?

Ref. 48 - Int Immunol. - add . after Int
