Question

[edit]

Do you know when I-59 was completed in Georgia? I can't seem to find any sources on Newspapers.com. Just wondering. If you have a source, just place it here. NoobThreePointOh (talk) 14:11, 28 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

(Stalker comment): I'm pretty sure it was completed in 1968. This article mentions the northernmost eight miles, which I'm pretty sure was the last section. Bneu2013 (talk) 18:01, 28 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Bneu2013 Okay, thanks for that. I wasn't even able to find it on the site itself for some reason. Maybe I wasn't looking properly. NoobThreePointOh (talk) 18:06, 28 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@NoobThreePointOh: - Scratch that. I just looked at Street View, and the bridges on the southern section are dated 1969 (I had thought I remembered them being dated 1966). So it was probably in 1970 or '71. Bneu2013 (talk) 18:11, 28 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I'll have to search around more. NoobThreePointOh (talk) 18:12, 28 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Bneu2013 All right, it seems from this clip that the construction on the last section of I-59 (or at least bids of it) were to open on May 29. Buuuut... I go to that date and can't find any papers dating to the opening of the final segment, which is really weird. NoobThreePointOh (talk) 18:33, 28 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment: Even though the source shows a blank site, simply click the drop-down menu below and select "Interstate 59" from there. It should display the exits the Interstate has.
