Plot synopsis

[edit]

the plot synopsis to this film leads the reader to believe that the setting of the film takes place after the war; when in fact the majority of the film takes place during the war. As a result, the majority of this article is inaccurate. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.221.12.11 (talk) 15:12, 15 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Historical Inaccuracy

[edit]

The film depicts Brooks as CIGS much earlier than reality. — Preceding unsigned comment added by KiernMoran (talkcontribs) 22:56, 11 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The King and D-Day

[edit]

The King is shown as expressing a want to join the soldiers in battle on D-Day, in the front line. Churchill is against this but the King insists. Did this really happen and did the King really take part in D-Day? 101090ABC (talk) 23:46, 13 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I can't answer about the scene's veracity, but in it the King was simply making a point to show Churchill the madness of his plan to go with the troops on the D-Day landings. Chruchill of course vetoed the King's proposal to go on the basis that he would almost surely be killed. The king replied "and I have a replacement, whereas you do not. So let's hear no more about it.". LookingGlass (talk) 21:33, 6 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Cleanup tag

[edit]

As there is no reason given the tag is tautological (every article on Wiki "MAY require cleanup"). As the tag indicates nothing that can be addressed and as it implies flaws with the article without justification I've removed it. If you think there is in fact something that needs cleaning up then please either identify what this is and/or clean it up. LookingGlass (talk) 12:09, 5 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
