Etymology

[edit]
The word "intrepreneur" is a play on the word Entrepreneur highlighting the fact that person is within an organisation as opposed to external ("entre-" is a French variant of the Latin "inter-").

Surely this should actually be "intre-" is a French variant of the Latin "inter-", assuming the statement is even true?

Amateur Image Problem in General

[edit]

I'm not a big wikipedia editor and frankly don't have enough time to spare. Well, I do, but I don't want to deal with wiki-resistance. This article suffers from amateur style in general. If anything, it makes people striving to be intrapreneurial consultants look like, again, sophomoric amateurs. Majusculing, all-caps, sensational writing styles--these are all seen here. I'm lazy, but I know what I know, and this article looks like it was written by a sophomore philosophy major at a second rate college. Cheers!68.59.4.188 (talk) 22:46, 2 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Move

[edit]
  • IntrepreneurIntrapreneur (move) — The accepted spelling for this term is intrapreneur, as this is the spelling of the term used by the American Heritage Dictionary 3rd ed, 1993. This is probably why this page is not linked elsewhere in Wikipedia. I attempted the move the page myself and start updating corrections, however, currently Intrapreneur redirects to Intrapreneurship, which is a less common usage of the term. Both should probably exist — intrapreneur is a type of business person, intrapreneurship is a style and practice of business.   ChristopherA (talk) 19:25, 26 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Syntax/Grammar/Style/Wikipedia Values

[edit]

I arrived at this page to learn and found several problems with the copy. Made some corrections anonymously before setting up an account to participate fully and transparently. I don't have time now to do a whole copy edit. Would be interested in talking with people concerned with this entry who want to improve it. Note: the Intrepreneurship article is better developed. Should we consider merging? Extra note: long time Wikipedia fan and occasional copy editor - this is my first time going deeper into editing content than basic grammar, punctuation, syntax, etc. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.59.4.188 (talkcontribs) 22:46, 2 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I strongly agree. We do not need two articles, and Intrapreneurship is much better written. I will do the merge. Thanks for suggesting it! Peter Chastain (talk) 17:27, 23 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
